Scout Shabbat at Temple Emanu-El in Haverhill (MA)

Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts from Northern Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire gathered on Friday, February 6th at Temple Emanu-El in Haverhill, Massachusetts to celebrate Scout Shabbat, the Jewish Sabbath.

Scout Shabbat offers an opportunity for Scouts to show their duty to God, an integral part of the Scout Oath, and allows worshipers to honor Scouts and Scout leaders in the community for their achievements and service.

As part of the regular Friday evening service, Rabbi Ira Korinow recognized all of the Scouts and spoke about the connection between Scouting and the Duty to God. All of the Scouts received a special patch to commemorate the event.
